Harmony House Preheater Close-Up
These are the lamps I had in the preheater than overheated and had a meltdown. Notice the darkening on the ends. there was only very faint darkening on the ends before the old fixture had failed. So it backs up the theories that the capacitor malfunctioned, overdriving the lamps a LOT and overheating the ballast coils in the process. The lamps still work though! This fixture is nice and bright. I love it! It's got a 0.85A Jefferson brick ballast.

Nice! This looks bigger than the one that died! I like how the reflector is held on too! Did this require a lot of restoration?
How loud is the ballast/starters?

Thanks! Yeah i like the nice big reflector and the far-spaced lamps. It goes well with my turret, also having far-spaced lamps. Nope, just a repaint and some rewiring. The ballast only has a slightly noticable hum. I like the eye screw things too. They're spring-loaded and let me tell you, they are IMPOSSIBLE to pull to reinstall the reflector. Removing is very easy but installing the reflector was a nightmare. I ended up just saying "F it" and took it down and installed the reflector on the ground, which is still hard. Those springs have a ton of tension.
