This is at an older gasoline station in Queens, NY. The ballast and capacitor are hanging out of the pole's base, and it doesn't light. I wonder if it was originally incandescent.

i honestly thought this was lit until I read the discription. This was most likely incandescent at one point. There are still soem incandescent ones like this mounted in pairs on poles. The of couse do not work. There are big boomin' MH shoeboxes lightign the lot. The incandescent floods were never removed thoguh.

It must've been a reflection of the camera's flash. If that's the case, it's one strong reflector. Shocked
