Oddly shaped intersection.
This "intersection" is really two three-way intersections comined into one. The main road has the green while the two side roads have the red. Then the road on the left is green and the main road and other side road are red. Lastly, the road on the right is green and the left road and main road are red. Then the cycle repeats. That must've been a pain to program.

i thought ontario liked short masts. Shocked Shocked

We do, but that area likes to use longer masts than average.

I personally like the longer masts because i like the signals mounted right above the lanes like they are here. That way you can look strait ahead instead of all around.
joe_347V   [Oct 25, 2011 at 02:38 AM]
You can do that with short masts too, just use more poles. Laughing

True. Laughing I like simpler installations though. Does ontario have any signals mounted like this? (suspended from the mast) This has to be the most common installastion here although new installations have the signals mounted to the mast with brackets. you should see the signals in RI on a windy day lol. Laughing

Only really old installs have something similar (check out that GE Novalux signal). Newer overhead installs tend to use either the cushion hanger, Plumbizer, or Astro Bracket.

We currently use the astro bracket. I don't know how old these signals are. (probably from the 70's to the 90's depending on whether these are origional are replacements.) These were incandescent until they were refitted with LED non-pixelated modules alogn with almost every other signal in RI in 2009. Signals already with pixelated modules remained pixelated though.
