The tapered elliptical arms are really common in my area too, but I've haven't seen a 315 around here.

Holyoke is the only city around here that used the 315. Chicopee Ma which is near me used the 313 for a while but they mainly use GE M-250R2. I love the tapered elliptical arms the most out of any arms. Holyoke started using steel cantilever arms in the last year for most replacement arms.

We mainly use cantilever or upsweep arms both in 6' legnths. On occasion a tapered E arm (also in 6' legnths) will appear. I guess what ever National Grid has in stock is what they use.

Any new installs by NU use cantilever style arms. NU never used aluminum arms. They also use a-frame brackets on anything over 10 ft in lenth

What brand are those tapered arms? It is hard to see on this one.....

My electrical company which is BGE uses Curlee truss arms as the newest installations and the electrical company southwest of BGE is PEPCO uses Utility Metals A frame single guy arms for the longest arm in newest installations.

I also enjoy finding 2 poles with streetlight, but one being PEPCO and other being BGE and sometimes other electrical companies if I find them. When I do...I take pics. I have an album called "Electrical Company Battles" You can see them right here! Tell me what you think!

I think these are GE te arms. you can't see the through bolt mounting hole on this arm. I'll get a better shot later on.

There used to be two 313's at the entrance to my neighborhood on tapered elliptical arms. But when they upgraded the intersection from a traffic signal to a bridge/exit, they took them away and replaced them with lots of M-400 R3 FCO's on metal poles.

I have 3 streetlight arms in my collection...

-Utility Metals "B" Series Tapered Elliptical Bracket 2 feet and 6 inches arm (although the arm doesn't look too tapered but because its short)

-Shakespeare Standard Cantilever Arm 2 inch diameter 4 foot. (Tapered Elliptical)

-An OLD longer than 4 foot upsweep with threaded end for the gumball which came with it!

AEL 315

The old Faithful AEL 315 that had a short stint here in Holyoke. This was taken at a 4 way intersection near my house. These tapered eliptical arms are very popular for the 6' arms around the city.
