I see a little spider on the left hand side.

Eww and it looks dead!

It dont take long for the pest to move in

Yeah, someone here is a limeman who found a dead SNAKE in a Cooper OVZ. Shocked
joe_347V   [Aug 05, 2011 at 11:37 PM]
And there's anyways those birds that like to live in them too but the snake was just creepy. Shocked
Antstar85   [Aug 06, 2011 at 12:37 AM]
Yeah birds are the worst! I work on fixtures in substations which could be cobraheads or flood lights and the stuff inside them sometimes is nasty!
streetlight98   [Aug 06, 2011 at 12:42 AM]
Here they use 400w HPS GE PF400 floodlights. Older substations that are abandoned tend to not have lights here. Some have M400s with only the top housing, the PC socket, and rusty ballast left after years of being abandoned. Sad
Antstar85   [Aug 06, 2011 at 12:47 AM]
All ours have a PF400's or M-250R2's since most have been replaced since were doing a bunch of upgrades to our stations.

Here they build new substations in a different location than the older ones. The old unused substations here are in hidden by trees or bushes surronding it. After the bushes is a barbed wire fence. The new ones are built right along the roadside and don't have foliage around it.
Antstar85   [Aug 06, 2011 at 02:09 AM]
We actually dismantle our old stations and take everything down giving the land back to the city or town there in.

BTW, the date code FR in this fixture's label is June 1979. Cool
