I'm assuming this one is mercury but I didn't open it since I didn't have a screwdriver with me (it doesn't have a latch)
prawnman88   [May 08, 2011 at 01:55 PM]
never seen any of these here in phx
gailgrove   [May 09, 2011 at 04:01 PM]
Thats not too surprising, I doubt any of these ever left Canada.
GullWhiz   [May 09, 2011 at 06:38 PM]
There's actually some of those fixtures in Alabama as far as I know!
joe_347V   [May 09, 2011 at 11:39 PM]
Do these use the same refractor as the B2277 and R47?
prawnman88   [May 10, 2011 at 12:24 AM]
still a very neat looking fixture
gailgrove   [May 10, 2011 at 07:21 PM]
I don't think these use the same refractors, Thanks Rich!
streetlight98   [Nov 12, 2011 at 01:41 AM]
This is the SMALL sized cobrahead?!?! Shocked This is huge!
gailgrove   [Nov 13, 2011 at 07:06 PM]
It's not as huge as you would think, it is around the same size as the OV-15.
joe_347V   [Nov 13, 2011 at 07:25 PM]
Yeah, if you go here you can see that the B2217 is roughly the same size as the nearby OV 15s.
streetlight98   [Nov 13, 2011 at 09:32 PM]
The OV15 is pretty large too. Do you know how long the OV15 is?
joe_347V   [Jan 01, 2012 at 10:37 PM]
Hmm, odd that this B2217 dosen't have a latch, these ones here have latches.
gailgrove   [Jan 01, 2012 at 11:47 PM]
Yeah it is a little odd, I wonder if this is an earlier model? Michael the OV-15 is about 21/2 feet long.
streetlight98   [Jan 02, 2012 at 09:48 PM]
It's as long as the OVF. Razz Laughing The OVF/Y/G is a puny 30" long. Shocked Rolling Eyes
joe_347V   [Jan 02, 2012 at 09:53 PM]
And a Powerlite B2213 is 4' long, the first gen Powerlites were pretty long fixtures. Shocked
gailgrove   [Jan 03, 2012 at 02:36 AM]
Yeah seeing them in person was even more impressive, I know of a few locally, none in service. These two I watch very closely! If they ever come down (they have to eventually right?) I plan to get them, or maybe even offer to take the lights down once I am older, I could rent a bucket truck and rescue them! Among many other lights.
streetlight98   [Jan 03, 2012 at 03:06 AM]
yeah you can replace them with a couple of durastars or yardblasters. Very Happy
joe_347V   [Jan 03, 2012 at 03:12 AM]
Ah, so that's the kind of flood this pole would have had. There's around 16 of these still in use at a couple plazas here too.
rlshieldjr   [Jan 03, 2012 at 04:22 AM]
Ask the museum curator "Do you want me to dispose of that dirty old light"? And dispose it to your home.
joe_347V   [Jan 03, 2012 at 09:24 PM]
I think he'll need a truck to dispose of everything. Laughing
