Interesting, I don't think I've ever seen a light with a 310w HPS before.

There's some aluminium poles with tapered e arms but the concrete ones are more common here.

Umm Dave, I think this whole setup probably got lost looking for Maryland Wink
Silverliner14B   [Apr 17, 2011 at 04:44 AM]
Or maybe a reject from MD, as this is 310w lolol!
gailgrove   [Apr 24, 2011 at 08:33 PM]
Cool, 310 watts is rare!
streetlight98   [Oct 03, 2011 at 12:49 AM]
How come 310 watts is so rare and only used in certian areas?
gailgrove   [Oct 03, 2011 at 12:52 AM]
It was designed to replace 700 watt mercury, so I guess that's mostly where it was used.
streetlight98   [Oct 03, 2011 at 01:05 AM]
Ahh. I see. I noticed that 700w mercury lamps aren't sold anymore. Confused I usually see 400w used to replace 700 or 1000w mercury.
gailgrove   [Oct 03, 2011 at 01:08 AM]
Eye still sells 700 watt mercury lamps, but I think that's about it.
streetlight98   [Oct 03, 2011 at 01:12 AM]
The lamps are probably very pricey then with no compitition. Is there a retrofit lamp or other lamp that will work on a 700w mercury ballast? The reason I say that is because I've seen a 700w M-1000 on the National Grid Surplus site.... There's no way i could buy it though. No room. Mad
gailgrove   [Oct 03, 2011 at 01:14 AM]
They likely are, I think EYE is pretty pricey to start with. But they seem to be the best quality you can get. Your comment also appeared twice.
joe_347V   [Oct 03, 2011 at 01:15 AM]
How'd you comment twice? I thought the system prevents you from doing that. Shocked
streetlight98   [Oct 03, 2011 at 01:16 AM]
Strang eeh? That's the second time that's happened. Shocked It seems my comment was duplicated.
GullWhiz   [Oct 03, 2011 at 02:13 AM]
Its many times it happens to me.......I just delete the 2nd!
streetlight98   [Oct 03, 2011 at 02:14 AM]
I wasn't sure if it would delete both. I deleted the duplicate though. Wink

This looks new. How new is this setup?
Silverliner14B   [Dec 27, 2011 at 11:46 PM]
I dont know precisely when Downey installed these poles and OVXs but they do look to be no more than 10 years old.
streetlight98   [Dec 27, 2011 at 11:58 PM]
I think this has the new hinges and redesigned body, if so this is fairly new.
