Half-Restored Powerlite R37! Restored the door today. Top housing will be repainted when I get around to removing the broken screw (which won't happen any time soon with it installed though lol). As of this picture, the door has been repainted inside and out (with the outside getting an additional protective clear coat, inside just getting the silver paint) and has gotten a new refractor retaining clip with a new stainless steel screw to hold the clip in place, replacing the yucky rusted one. The top housing has received new stainless steel slipfitter bolts and all stainless steel screws throughout and the used Advance 100W MV HX ballast I just got off ebay was installed in this temporarily until the top housing is repainted, at which time it will be permanently installed with crimps and a newly painted ballast bracket. I also still need to get a PC socket. Right now the PC socket is just chillin' on top of the light, not connected to anything. Keywords: American_Streetlights

Is the PC socket two piece like cooper or 1 piece. Would the intermatic brand ones be a suitable replacement? I know they are a bit taller than most receptacles.

Actually, these use the intermatic PC socket design and use a retaining clip like the older GE photocell sockets. I found one on eBay for $17.50 (a little steep but any others I've found have short leads; I want one with long enough leads so I don't have to make any splices).

It's too bad the leads are not replaceable on most PC sockets, as that's the reason I need to replace this PC socket. Otherwise it's fine. Damn birds chewed the insulation off the wires lol. It's too bad they didn't keep the lights energized.

I bought these when I was replacing the PC sockets in my Powerlites. Works great aside from the 4" leads which I had to extend with crimp on butt splices.

I like those receptacles since they come with 14 gauge wire. That was the same receptacle I ended up installing in the OVX. It's a tad taller than a traditional cooper receptacle but it works fine for me.

I had bought one of these for my OVX. I bought a second one for my L-150/OV-15 4th generation. The guy is right in Pawtucket so I was going to save the $4 in shipping and pick them up myself but the seller freaked out when I asked if I could pick them up in person. Afraid I wanted to mug him or something I guess. Laughing So I made him an offer with the $4 subtracted from the list price and he accepted lol. At that time he was selling them for like $12 a piece though so looks like he made that minus-four price the new list price.

I've come across plenty of people who are hesitant to meet in person because they don't want the buyer to know where they live (which I totally understand; I wouldn't want that either) but they will offer to meet at a public place, which I prefer anyway. Easier to get to and less chance of something rogue going on.

The Intermatic PC socket is slated to arrive Thursday. I'll install it and rewire the light when it arrives.
