Inside the Powerlite R37
Looks much nicer now that it's been cleaned up lol. Needs quite a bit of work though. For parts seen in this picture, it needs a new PC socket (easy), a new refractor clip on the door (pretty easy), and the screw on the right holding the latch catch on the top housing (foreground) lost its head when I tried to remove it so it needs to be drilled out (not so easy, but possible).

I will probably also get all new stainless screws for everything too. I'm thinking a nice new coat of silver paint too. Interestingly, this was originally painted silver. The Canadian ones were almost always bare and most in the US were painted gray or also unpainted. Apparently silver was also an option.

Looking good! You must have scrubbed quite a bit lol. I probably would have just blasted it with the pressure washer until it cleaned up lol. The Powerlites use a fairly standard PC socket but you'll probably have to keep the ring the PC socket screws on.

New stainless steel screws sound good, I kept the original screws for mine since they were still in good condition.

LOL Yeah I scrubbed quite a bit. The door didn't come that clean though (which is to be expected, since the lower portion always seems to be dirtier).

Honestly it wasn't as elbow-grease-intensive as I thought it would be. I think because the fixture hasn't been operated in so long, the dirt never really baked onto the housing. The door and reflector are quite nasty though. TBH I'd like to find a completely new reflector/socket assembly but I can live with the existing reflector. Just need new socket brackets and gaskets.
