BIG craigslist score
Remember that post I made about the 400w HPS Unistyle 400's I found on craigslist? The seller said they also had "2 similar mercury vapor fixtures with bad lamps". So I went to the store where the lights were and asked to see the lights so I could pick out one to buy. Well, they took me to the back room where they had the pile, and on top of it were these 2 175w mercury vapor AEL 113's. I was shocked since I have always wanted one of these, and I was NOT expecting to get not one but 2 of these today. As you can see, the one on the right has a half-missing NEMA tag, and that one also had a MASSIVE wasp nest inside it. (fortunately no live inhabitants lol) and the one on the right has a filthy gasket. These included 2 EXTREMELY blackened GE 175w /DX lamps, and I have tested 1 so far and it doesn't appear to work (but then again, they are so dimmed out that maybe I just need to let them warm up). Needless to say, I am still somewhat in shock since I was NOT expecting to find these. The place still has the Unistyle 400's in storage (it's a refurbished and used tool store) and so I might go back again sometime. They said the lights in storage aren't going to be going anywhere unless someone buys them all. Also, while I was there, I noticed that the parking lot had LED lights on vintage looking poles. They told me the parking lot was originally lit with the Unistyle lights (they were surprisingly quite knowledgeable about them, even knew the manufacturer and everything) and they were happy with them, until Xcel Energy (who I refer to as "Evil big bubby") came in and told them about a discount for a downgrade to LEDisease and if they didn't they would start getting billed 4% more on power bills. So, they reluctantly took the bait. When I asked about where these 2 came from, it was from a corner of the lot and they had noticed how dim they were but they didn't do anything about it since they just thought they were really inefficient and were always that dim. I told them tha

Wait where are you from? You mention Xcel Energy, though I know they are in multiple plaes in the United States, but back in Colorado where I used to live around Denver (all around Denver too) uses Xcel energy so Just curious if that is where you are at.

Very nice.

I'm in Minneapolis, MN. Just FYI, Minnesota is probably one of the most LEDiseased states in the US currently.

@ Ian: These came from a parking lot in Minnesota and were bought on Craigslist. There are Line Material Unistyles there too! (Converted to HPS though).

Anyone have some extra 175w NEMA labels they don't need? I would like to get a new one for the one on the right.

I can make an electronic copy you can print out and spray with clear spraypaint (to waterproof it). Just take a nice shot of the other one like this. Nice and straight-on so I can make an exact copy of the numbers. Or if you want I can just "wing it".

Great score! The Unistyles would be a nice buy if you end up with more room and money. You can still get 400w MH ballasts so converting back to MV should be a snap.

I am planning on buying a Unistyle but I am going to remove the ballast and send it to an LG member who wants one.
