Ballast of the NOS M-250A 100W HPS, 240V. The nameplate says 120/240V, but that's GE's deceitful way of saying the light is 240V with a 120V PC socket. After close examination of the wiring, there is no neutral past the PC socket despite there being white wires. The input plug is the unplugged one with the black and red wires. Interesting that it's a 240v light with a 120v PC. It would be simpler to have a 120v ballast since it's 100w HPS.

Yeah and with the 120V PC they already have to run the neutral so they should have just ordered it as 120V. I guess maybe this place also used 240V 120 PC MVs and wanted to keep the wiring the same so the linemen don't get "confused". Laughing
