DTL "ROAM" Photocell Not sure what these ROAM things are how how they work but this particular unit is designed to be installed inside a post top (the type with the internal PC sockets with the PC looking out a window) where the window is replaced by the black box thing, which contains the actual photoeye. Why you couldn't just aim a self contained unit out the same window I don't know... Pretty interesting unit for sure and it's NOS. Haven't tried it out yet. Interesting concept, reminds me of GE's astrodome PC option.

Yeah that's what I was thinking when I first saw this. I'm thinking maybe all the guts wouldn't fit in a standard sized case so they had to do it this way? An oddball for sure. Definitely a conversation piece! I want to test it but unsure if I need some sort of master for it.

Could be useful on a cobra or NEMA head if its installed in an area that doesn't see much light, such as under an eave, so the remote sensor can be mounted where it gets light. I've seen yard lights installed under eaves that day burn because the photo eye is behind the soffit.
