Angle it however you want
Because of the bad temporary light distribution, they added another AE 125 on a 140 degree angle to the other light it seems. Its funny how many wooden poles in this photo look as if they were going to fall over

think it will be fall before anything of permanent change pops up on this stretch. I expect new permanent hardware to appear shortly at widenings of Wanless Dr, Countryside Dr, and Mavis Rd.

It's amazing how much money they waste up there on temporary set-ups. Here they just keep the old set-up going until the construction is over or they install and activate the new set-up before construction is over. Rarely are temporary signals used: only when it's not possible to do the previous two methods. Temporary street/freeway lighting is NEVER used here. They typically leave the old lights up and remove them once they get in the way. Then the road or freeway just doesn't have lights until the new ones are hooked up and going. Most of the time when the freeway lights are replaced, the old ones don't work anyway so the interchange would have already been dark.

@ m@ They say its suppose to be finished by November, I can't really see all the new signals and lights to be up by then. @mike, yeah it seems its way more resourceful down there. Idk why they cant just use the existing lights or old ones that are going to be scrapped anyways instead of ordering new ones. The only older lights that were used were 3 R47's and 5 OVX's. This OVX here is a new one though

Yeah over here, it seems it's the status quo to use new equipment for at least some of the temp lights. Sometimes they install older fixtures and signals that were taken down elsewhere though.

As for freeway light replacments, the MTO kept the old truss lights going until they got the high masts running. Then they disconnect and removed the truss lights. Occasionally they would leave the disconnected truss lights up for a few years before finally removing them.

Funny thing about the bad light distribution too, when we went to LED they realized the waffles on one of the streets didn't light the sidewalk as well as the old HPS drop lens cobras so they came back a week after and installed more LED waffles on tiny (like 2') tapered e arms to light the sidewalk. How is that supposed to save energy? Laughing Rolling Eyes

At least they came back and fixed the issue. Here they'd just say "screw it" and we'd be left with dark sidewalks lol.
