Yes i was quite surprised when i found this lamp in a NOS 1990 uplighter. I might try and get on of the uplighters so i can run some US lamps!

Now that's pretty cool! , I don't even own a 250W MH ballast

I thought the 250w MH ballasts were the same for the US & Europe? I have a UK 250w MA/V lamp that I use on US gear. BTW A_lights, I have an extra 250w MH CWA ballast for sale if you want it, it's heavy though.

I think they have ignitors on the European ballats , where as the US ballasts just have higher OCV is my guess
@vaporeyes: yeah I'm interested but will have to wait about two weeks , as I have money issues

Nice! The ones in US/Canada also run the same wattage merc lamps too.

Interesting so i could use mercs on this ballast if i pick up one of the uplighters? They have a large shunt cap, Most standard MH over here use standard ballast and ignitor! Quite reliable!

US MH lamps have the same spec as UK/US MV lamp but they just need a hier OCV to start I have 3 US MH lamp made for exsport 2 came from isrel and one came from Ebay and with the one I got from ebay it ses to run on a MV ballast with a 750V ignitore
