Illuminated Case Sign
Here's one of the few remaining illuminated case signs in Toronto, there used to be lots of these but most of them were removed by 2000 and replaced with reflective signs. This one was oddly left behind and it's still connected, although it could use some new lamps.

Downtown Providence used a MV post top type light with the signs printed on the plastic. The signs are still up, but the lamps don't work.

This is the only powered one that I know of, there's more but they either don't light up at night or I haven't seen them at night.

Those signs look preety cool. I'm guessing those are fluorescent lights? If they wanted to save money they could probably even stick a LED panel in there.

Yeah I believe they are fluorescent, knowing the city they probably will just scrap this and replace it with a reflective aluminium sign. Confused

I also added in the night shot to this page.

I see one lamp lit dimly looks rapid start to me...

I wonder if Toronto still relamps these things, all of the remaining light up case signs have either dead or missing lamps or are missing parts themselves. In fact there's a light up street sign that had it's panels replaced with reflective aluminium.

A little update on this, this got removed sometime in mid 2017, showed up on Kiijji for sale around summer for $70. If it was cheaper and smaller I might have bought it lol.
