Old School Signal Poles
Old style Polefab Sectional Steel Poles with Powerlite Overbraced Signal Arms, common in Ontario from the 60s to around the early 80s or so.

There's also a variant of these with a more angular mast but they're even harder to find than the curved ones. I'm not sure who made these particular arms but the design was also made by Powerlite along with other companies.

The single member arms replaced the old double guy design and is still in use.

The signal heads are a mix of CGE, Eagle, LFE and Econolite. One of poles (The one on the left in the background) has a Econolite Bullseye signal left...VERY rare in Ontario.

Thanks those are my favourite type of signal arms and I think NYC still uses similar arms to this day.

yeah they're more interesting than the straight steel masts we use lol. i think RIDOT uses the same poles for signals as they do for overhead billboard signage.

Yeah, I know MTO still uses the short curved signal arm on one of the poles on the right in new installs.

Interestingly MTO used to use these signal poles for their ground mounted signs in the 60s and 70s. Most have since been replaced with steel I-beam posts or wood posts. Here's the only one mounted on signal poles left.
