Near the Fort McHenry Tunnel Highmast Baltimore City view
This is on the southern side of the Tunnel facing South, the ramps you see here heads to towndown Baltimore

Note the closer highmast has newer Holophane fixtures than the farther one. The design is different.

They are HPS

the background ones look like oversized bucket lights

This row here sadly has been removed!

UPDATE They have reinstalled a new set that replaced those. The new setup is very similar as mentioned here but with 3 fixtures each pole like above. Also I believe the new poles are actually shorter and I believe the new setups does NOT have the lowering mechanism....I am not 100% sure on the last part because it was dark and only one pole was powered and the rest was dark.

I have seen Holophane high masts here too.

Yeah also the ones with 2 fixtures are Holophanes...and the NEW ones are Holophane too but in FCO or CO instead of refractor...

The ones we use here are like the ones in the background with the round ballast housing. Both of them are the same brand and models except one is older than the other

The round ballast housing are the older models from 70s and early 80s, the square ones are newer from late 80s to today.

We used the square housing Holophanes during the late 80s and early 90s but we switched to GE and then to these and Widelites.
