Puny 125?
Silverliner14B   [Apr 09, 2011 at 04:18 AM]
Puny its a slang term for being lowly or something. This almost 60 year old OV20 still looks almost new while the 125 already lost its door lol.
gailgrove   [Apr 09, 2011 at 01:10 PM]
Ah, I've never heard the term before, I guess its not used around here.
Form109   [Apr 09, 2011 at 01:11 PM]
i happen to like the 125. Razz

btw what are the posts for?
gailgrove   [Apr 09, 2011 at 01:12 PM]
I do too, its not my favourite (which I think is now the R47) but I still like them.

I was told by a lineman friend that he finds AE fixtures (the 113 and 115) actually are more prone to losing doors than the GE M-250R2s!!!! Yes I have seen AE 113 and AE 115s with missing doors. but I wasn't sure which loses doors more the GE M-250R2 or AE 113 and 115s....well because my friend works with fixtures EVERY day......and he is experienced so I would trust him for that!

Meh, old outlives new. Laughing ALSO:If the latch is engaged right, the M-250R2 door won't come off. But i see so many M-250R2s loosing their doors. The older ones don't, but the newer circa 2008- present do.

What was the purpose of that cross-bar at the top of the pole? Nothing is attached to it.
Silverliner14B   [Apr 16, 2011 at 03:47 AM]
Its for double guys like the old ones you see on the freeways. They just attached a short arm on this one.
dbz77   [Apr 16, 2011 at 03:57 AM]
Where was this lamp post located?
Silverliner14B   [Apr 16, 2011 at 04:41 AM]
I mentioned the location in the photo description. Salvation Army store parking lot on Firestone Blvd at Woodruff in Downey, CA. At that intersection there are two very old double guys with steps on the poles.
dbz77   [Apr 16, 2011 at 04:44 AM]
I wonder if those double guy poles were recycled. (Removing double guy traffic signal poles seems to be a too frequent event)
Silverliner14B   [Apr 16, 2011 at 04:46 AM]
Maybe. The poles themselves look exactly like the old double guys along US 101 in Carpinteria, CA. I mean the pole in this pic. The double guys on Firestone may have been reinstalled.
dbz77   [Apr 16, 2011 at 04:56 AM]
Of course, this begs the question as to why the cross bar was not removed.
Form109   [Apr 16, 2011 at 05:09 AM]
they probably figured it wasn't worth the extra effort.
rlshieldjr   [Apr 16, 2011 at 05:26 AM]
Or it was left to raise a flag, see a pulley.
streetlight98   [Apr 16, 2011 at 12:20 PM]
Well, the lazy line man said to himself," If it doesn't need to be removed, why remove it?"
joe_347V   [Apr 16, 2011 at 11:55 PM]
They did the same thing here, they changed the arm on one of the signal poles here but they left the double guy cross arm on.
