The only thing good about a traffic jam, getting to see these, I havent seen them lit lately, last time were MV. Smile

NO WAY! 70s installed gumballs eh? I know they did sell gumballs in Sears in the 80s, but still.....cool!!!

Yes gumballs are back but not used as much as they used to......

In New York City there are incandescent Westinghouse "Cuplights" underpasses and lots of them....and usually almost always out of service....would love to have one myself one day!

Yep California did install these pendant style underpass lights into the 70s, some have gumball/teardrop bowls, most have more flat bowls. From the 80s on, low bay fixtures are used.

Neat! The only place I know that still installs gumballs here is Toronto, anyways over here in Ontario underpasses are usually lit with wallpacks mounted on the columns/walls or on the girders using L shaped brackets.
