Sylvania 175w Cleartop
Found this Sylvania 175w /DX merc mislabeled as a 175w MH lamp at Restore.

It looks very similar to my other Sylvania but this one has a rounded base insulator instead of the angular one, the date code on a metal tag instead of a stem press, and a etch without a date code on it.

The arc tube is pretty clear and the base dosen't look like it was screwed in before so this is most likely NOS.

Date code SR 008, I'm guessing August 1981?

Can you post a pic of the etch, that sounds cool that it was mislabeled!

The etch itself was a regular MV one, it was actually the guy at the store that stuck a nice big "175W Metal Halide Mogul Base" sticker on it. Rolling Eyes

Now if it was mislabeled by the factory that would be cool! Very Happy
