Philips F20T12/B Blue
Here's a pair of Philips F20T12 blue lamps that I found at the local Restore, they're pre Alto too and have a big drop of mercury inside. The date code on both lamps is a bit smudged though.

the date code lloks like "OB" Wink
joe_347V   [Aug 17, 2011 at 06:21 PM]
That was my first guess but OB would date to Feb 1990 or 2010. 1990 won't make sense since the font is the newer bold font and 2010 also won't do since the Philips shield wasn't used after 2005.

And Jace what happened to MINE MINE MINE?
streetlight98   [Aug 17, 2011 at 06:23 PM]
"QB"? It looks like it could be that. Neutral
joe_347V   [Aug 17, 2011 at 06:27 PM]
No Philips date codes are alphanumeric, letter/number for even numbered decades and number/letter for odd numbered decades.

where do you guys find date codes? It's like trying to read greek to me. Confused
joe_347V   [Aug 17, 2011 at 06:44 PM]
Actually looking at it again and more closely, it looks like it could be Feb 1990 since some Philips lamps had the bold font and I can't think of any other date possibilities.
GullWhiz   [Aug 17, 2011 at 07:25 PM]
It sounds right Feb 1990...I mean there's no Circle E or the Circle Hg

I believe there was Shield on earlier ones...I will check my 1987 Philips....

A bit older than I thought actually. Very Happy
