I guess it is too tall to fit in, so someone open the ceiling Razz

I see the wall to the right of the disposal unit was added after the fact since the drop ceiling continues above it. The walls are supposed to continue up past the ceiling and the ceiling gets attached to the wall with an L bar (instead of a common T bar, used to form the grid).

Yeah they moved the ceiling tiles to stick the 8 footers into the ceiling lol.

And yeah, I think the block wall on the left is original but the drywall walls were added in later. I've seen in some places the added in wall actually blocks the troffers from opening up properly. Rolling Eyes

LOL yeah I've seen walls erected right under troffers. I've also seen walls built around strip lights. Laughing Rolling Eyes

I've seen a wall built right over a ceramic pullchain light, so they presumably broke it with a hammer and left the socket assembly dangling, still with a bulb in it (exposed shell though) and working. Laughing

Never seen the (...) thing in person, but I can imagine it happens! Laughing

At my work there's a little bit of a two lamp slimline strip (no lamps) sticking out of a wall for the break room. It's upstairs where all the pallets of stuff we sell are stored. They converted a small portion of it to a breakroom a LOOONG time ago (like 1980s maybe; so I guess not THAT long, but it was there before my store moved into the building...) and they tiled the floor and added a suspended ceiling in there. I forget offhand if they built the wall around the fixture or if the wall doesn't go all the way up to the ceiling. The rest of the upstairs has an open ceiling so the wall probably only goes up to the bottom of a joist/beam. I'll have to take a closer look next time I go up there. I generally don't up up into the breakroom since we have booths in the front of the store that I usually sit at on break. And we have a bathroom downstairs. I only use the employee bathroom upstairs if the single-person public bathroom downstairs is occupied. The bathroom upstairs is separate men and women and there are multiple stalls (two toilets and a urinal for a men's room and two sinks, I assume the same for the women's room except with a third toilet in place of the urinal but cannot confirm that lol).
