Found this old Holophane incandescent wall light being held shut with a c clamp. I guess the original screws that held it shut froze and sheared off when someone tried to remove them.
I remember a shopping center in tyler that had alot of these....on the backside in the Alley behind the stores the walls were lined with them....they are such great looking small wall fixtures....im guessing its cast alum. with a glass lense...sure looks like it. looks like a Great Canidate for a PL Conversion.
Yeah these are cast aluminum and glass. Stonco (i think) made a similar version of these, which was available in low-wattage MV. I suppose this one could've been offered in MV too.
It's possible. I believe the Stonco version was a little big bigger and had a mogul socket so it used BT-25 mercs. With these I think you have to go with ED-17 lamps and remote ballasts. The tiny reactor ballasts used for HPS might fit. Maybe Holophane also made these with a extended wallbox.
Yeah the Stonco ones had an extended box too. I think they made two sizes of these. I've seen small ones that look around the size of an average outside home light and others look like they might have been able fit a 300W lamp. This one here looks like the smaller one. The larger one is prismatic on the bottom too IIRC and has a squarish bottom.
