NGrid Street Light Meltdown
This is from Amsterdam, NY. A factory caught on fire and the flames charred the utility pole and melted the refractor and photocell! The light itself doesn't look burned but I'm sure the wire insulation is probably bad now and the igniter and terminal block inside probably melted too.

Wow! Was this ever fixed?
streetlight98   [Nov 12, 2014 at 07:35 PM]
My guess is that it was replaced. I would have just replaced it if I was the lineman since if the PC and refractor melted, the wiring inside is probably charred and the PC socket probably melted too.

I'm surprised the paint survived. Definitely a meltdown.

Kinda cool how it rehardened like that. From the thumbnail it looks like a giant gull turd falling out of the reflector lol.
