Navigator from Polara. Most over-engineered button available with tons of voice features, vibrotactile button, update-able software, wireless configurator, and a control board for each button station... They arent cheap either! Push the button once to place a call, push and hold to either place a call and get location information or extend the walk timing...or both
I usually try to make them rap "wait...w-w-w-wait..." by repeatedly hitting the button. One of the talking ones I use once each week makes a machine gun sound when it's time to cross the street. Not sure I like that, particularly in a neighborhood where there have been shootings.
When it's time to cross everybody is running for cover. That must be the theme for that neighborhood to have machine gun sounds since there has been shootings.
it certainly feels like a well built thing...the button has a sastifying tactile feel to it. these are used in new signal installs here but why would such an overbuilt button be nessecary?
maybe a few years ago I would have agreed with that statement. but ive found that like everything else there's a time and place for jokes and at the time the jokes were inappropriate.
