Yeah, I rarely see metal advance left signals anymore. Seems most got replaced by Durasigs or Fortrans during the change out. I know Toronto still has some all 12" CGE advance lefts too.
Yeah, Mississauga still has a couple as well that are CGE. We had 3 until 2010 though. I noticed in Toronto on Steeles back in 2011 there was a CGE 12-8-8-12" advanced turn on a hanger. I found it weird because Toronto's advanced are 12" and are usually CGE 12"'s back in the day
The newer ones are poly-carbonate right?
Did you know Fortran has made an LED streetlight now too. They are actually the ones used on Dixie in Missisauga! Its the e-lite star™ SL2
Ahh I remember there used to be a CGE advance on Burnhamthorpe near Square One but it might have been replaced with a Fortran. Interesting that you found a 12-8-8-12 CGE advance in Toronto. Like you said Toronto starting using all 12" CGE advanced back in the 1980s. The only 12-8-8-12 CGE advance I knew of in Toronto was this one. Before that they had flashing greens.
Yeah, all the newer signals are polycarbonate. Most of the GTA installs poly now, aside from Oakville.
Didn't know that Fortran makes streetlights now, or that they have a LED light.
@ mike, Is this eagle have the canadian style hand and walk, and timers? They look identical except I can't tell whether its Canadian or American. I wish we had those newly installed around here. Theres some old ones in Toronto over here
The hand and man one? Looks to be the american style but I've never seen it in person. I've never seen the Canadian ones here before though and the black signals were a new install about two years ago.
