Looks like this Fortran got tossed around too much by the wind last night. The top section broke and its just dangling here now. I think they didn't install the reinforcement plate on this signal.
lol looks like they put the thing in a body bag. You would have thought while they were up there they would have taken the signal down since that's a major safety issue...
Its one of those fiberglass poles and yeah its a older style York Region setup. The signal was bagged up around two years ago as they had to put in a temp signal on a span wire. The lane underneath it is now closed off by a cop car.
fiberglass utility pole? Ick I don't like fiberglass anything. That includes street lights, poles, and even those stupid orange stakes you stick next to your curb so the plow doesn't destroy your curb. I just hate fiberglass lol. at first i thought that was either a metal or painted concrete pole...
I'm not entirely sure why they put up the temp signals to being with though as the only major project nearby is the condo tower in the background. I don't exactly know why but this section of Kennedy has ton of these fibreglass utility poles. They were installed around 7 years ago. The OV-25s used to be on standalone concrete poles but they were transferred to the fibreglass poles.
oh yeah, i remember that pic lol. Canada is the only place I've ever seen a Durastar 3000. I've only seen Durastar 2000s here. The 50W ones in the Pascoag Utility Co-Op and 150W ones in North Attelborough, MA.
Is this in York region or Toronto?
