Looks like one advantage of this over the LED modules is that the drivers and the diodes can be replaced separately.

That is really the selling point but in all actuality...the housings will degrade before the electronics burn out, unless they're damaged by weather, or faulty, etc.

I see regular LED fixtures going in these when/if they are mass produced and require maintenance

Yeah, I see that too, with streetlights they usually don't replace the ballast if it blows and prefer to replace the entire light.

Power supply inside the yellow section. These are designed to have upwards of a 20 year lifespan. When needing replacement, you simply pull it out with limited tools.
