Here ya go Mike,a pic of the Ripley Sunswitch opened up.I got some Cds eyes off of ebay,I'm not sure of the rating but they seem to be similar to the original.
Thanks. Wow! that's a nice blue color! Here the 120-277v Ripley photocells were custom ordered in the light gray color used for 120V (I'm not sure why they didn't just buy 120V photocells, seeing how all the PCs are wired for 120V regardless of if the ballast is 120 or 240V )
If i come accross any CdS cells i check them out to see if they're good to replace the one eye. Can you buy more sensitive eyes or is at soley in the other gear in the PC that determines how sensitve the unit is? I want a more sensitive eye since the window is pretty darkened from the elements (not just the clear tint it's supposed to have)
Those ebay ones should work,I believe I bought some from that seller, yes they would have to be soldered in.That's true Joe,I forgot to mention also that the thermal PC's have set screws on the bimetalic switch for adjustment. I may have a Fisher Pierce window, I will have to take a look and let you know.
Yes they can be twisted together, just cut the old eye off close to the back of it so you have more wire left in the PC to twist onto the leads the new one.
Yep I'll get 'em nice and tight and wrap them in electrical tape for a snug cover-up (yes heat shrink would be better but i don't own a heat gun and tape works fine for me even though it's a little tacky).

I know some electronic PCs have a small adjustment knob inside and some of the relay ones have a knob to change the spring tension.
Oh does anyone know where I can get a replacement PC window for a Fisher Pierce type PC? The window on one of mine got crushed by my R47.
@Mike make sure that the wires are twisted on tight and that they aren't touching.
