A weekly or monthly comic for the website?

(1/2) > >>

Vince:
I don't think I told anyone here before, but in my personal life things got a little rock n' roll this year. First my electrical class was nearing its end and I possibly had to move out anytime. It ends up I got a job VERY close to my home so I'm safe for now!

But also my parents are divorcing. They actually waited I finished all my studies before telling me but it was a sorta long date decision. Anyway... Long story short, we're selling the house so my workshop and all the future projects I planned are going bye-bye, at least temporarily for a few years... The apartment life is waiting me next spring, oh well!  :-\

So, what am I up to with this topic? Well, since almost any form of electrical and lighting project will be impossible to make for me when I'm in an apartment, I definitely need to find something else to do! One idea I had in mind for a while was to create a comic for the website, with lighting jokes or covering news about lighting or something like that.

I never lost my love of drawing since the day I could actually handle a pencil in kindergarten (or probably before), I drew in my notebooks at school until at least 14, so I think I should exploit what could be a hidden talent, who knows!  ;D

So I'm gonna be asking you guys: What do you think of this idea? Do you have ideas for the first issues if I ever start that comic? Like subjects, format, possible characters? I remember that many of us had animal-like nicknames, that could be reused as characters maybe? Or creating light bulb characters, I dunno xD

Personally I though a making small three-panels strips, same format as Garfield's. As of how often I would make them, I'm still not sure. 'cause I also have other comic projects for other websites, and depending how fast I work and how many comics I'm making at the same time, it could range from two issues per week to one per month.

So, tell me guys your ideas and what do you think of this!  ;D

GEsoftwhite100watts:
I think that would be cool!
Shame about losing your house; please tell me you are keeping all your projects/lamps/ballasts/etc!

Vince:
Oh I'm not getting rid of a single thing lighting-related, that's for sure! I just won't have access to all my collection for a while. In other words I'll have to store a good part of it in taped boxes for lack of available room for shelves. A part of my fluorescent ballasts are already stored at my cousin's place and my HID ballasts will go next weekend. I will still dumpster-dive and collect new stuff though!

Another thing I forgot, that comic is going to need a title. If you guys have ideas, tell me!

joe_347V:
Cool idea Vince! Shame about losing your house but at least you were able to keep your lighting collection.

Looking forward to the comic!

Mike:
Hey Vince a comic strip sounds excellent! Glad to hear you were able to keep all your lighting stuff! And good luck in the new apartment too.
