Title: General Discussion is overused....
Post by: Jace the Gull on July 19, 2012, 11:53:31 AM
Hello members,

I want to report that many times I look at General Discussion in the forum is way too overuse, and the fact that a LOT of the stuff posted there DOES fit in other subjects.

The General Discussion should not be the first thing to use, it should actually be the last resort, the last one to use if others doesn't fit.....

I am thinking about getting this fixed. One of my ideas is to actually make a new Category called "Questions about lamps" and "Questions about fixtures or lighting components"

Overusing the General Discussion when it was not necessary to put the post there because there was another subject that DID belong. It makes it harder to look for what one is looking for or it just, you know make it a mess.

Just my two cents......

Any questions or ideas or comments to solve this?

-Jace

I agree that a catagory for questions about lamps and the same for fixtures is a good idea. :D

Another thing I noticed was that there's a lot of [MOVED] topics left in the general discussion board which clutters it up. I wonder if we should get rid of those after like say a month after a topic is moved to clean things up.

Okay Joe, I am giving you that responsibility to do that, and anything that is sticky and not really important right now to keep sticky, unstick them!
