Title: Capacitor for 175 CWA
Post by: gramirez2012 on October 26, 2011, 10:19:20 PM
What are the capacitor values for a 175w CWA (mercury) ballast?

Thank you.

The capacitor value can slightly vary from one manufacturer to another. Most 175W models use a cap with a value around 10 to 12.5uF. As of the voltage rating, it is safe to use a cap rated at least 300V.

Hope this helps!

This for any single tap 120volt CWA H39 ballast?

MV ballast, it has a 10 uf 400v dry-film capacitor, and it runs 175w MV/MH.

I've seen caps on true 175w mercury ballasts run as high as 17.5uF 300V but it varies by model and manufacturer.
