Here's a thread where I'll be posting my lighting-related videos. 8) They will all be in one topic to save space on the server and to make it easier to locate vids. I hope you all enjoy them. I enjoy watching my lamps start up and I want others to as well!

New videos uploaded! Check them out!

Cool! I like that F13T5 startup
-
Thanks. :) Yeah it seems the starters have a little trouble starting the 13w lamps. The F13T5 lamps need FS-4 starters to start but they take longer to start (which means more fun to watch!) than with 40W T12s. I tried the starters in my preheat industrial and they instant started every time. More videos to come! Stand by. 8)

i have a newer Robertson F13T5 ballast that is instant start, its magnetic but has some type of internal electronic starter so its real boring!
-
ahh yeah IS is boring except for EOL shows lol. it seems even though one ballast is rapid start (though still labeled as preheat) it starts up jsut like the preheaters every time. you couldn't tell them apart! It probably really is preheat with an internal glowbottle starter or something.
-
i had a F40T12 NPF preheat with a bad starter inside so i bypassed it by just using certain wires and using a normal FS-4 starter and works fine! so stupid they would put a starter glowbottle inside a potted ballast !
-
well i'm not sure if they did, but the lamp starts differently every time and the internal start acts just like a regular one. Maybe it is a glowbottle though. If that's the case, I'd better not switch it frequently. :o
