I've always wondered, why do low bays, which are high wattages and in high ambient temperatures in general, have plastic lenses? you'd think they's deform after a while like plastic lenses on high wattage street lights with plastic lenses but they don't even seem to be slightly affected by the heat.
Yeah I think it does looks a bit like those old school merc floodlights. I wonder if it replaced a similar looking old school flood. The streetview shows nothing on the pole but you can see that a fixture used to be there...
I think the higher wattage lowbays might have glass refractors as I've came across a Holophane one at Restore (it looked like this) with a heavy glass refractor. It was 250w MH.
