Induction found at ICC (MD 200)
Those inductions are located at Route 200 also as known as the ICC. It is a tunnel that goes under a river called Winters Run. The type of inductions used are the famous Sylvania Icetrons! They light up well, but oddly which row turns on and off are very random every time I pass under it, even if an hour later a different row will be on. I think this is to keep the life of those longer by having some be off sometime and taking turns. It's possible each row actually has sensors to tell which to turn on (per lane) as there are sensors on automatic pay tolls. But I doubt that though.

Nice shot, and sharp picture too something hard to do when your camera is moving inside a tunnel. Looks a lot better than the HPS tunnel lights the MTO uses.

I think the big Tunnel in the mountains on I-70 uses Indution fixtures.. I see most of them on. But I am not sure if they are florescent though..

But nice picture! The tunnel looks lit up well.

A road going UNDER a river? Why UNDER and not Over?

i was thinking that same thing..seems easier to build a bridge over the river instead of going under it with a tunnel.

anyways nice pic...this is COOL.

Maryland has the widest under the water tunnel in the world.....Ft. McHenry Tunnel in Baltimore ......under an keep rivers looking good without a bridge over it....although bridge looks good too...lol

Boston has an under the water tunnel. I peronally thing tunnels under rivers and such is just stupid. There's a little somethign we like to call a BRIDGE that is much safer and cheaper.

bridges fail too. Smile

ever heard of the I-35 Bridge Collapse upstate in Minnesota.

Lookin' good! Those icetrons would come in handy with their long life in this tunnel Smile

We have an old under the water tunnel called the Harbor Tunnel which is also in Baltimore City. Not sure the original source lights inside, but before there was a bunch of LPS fixtures in that tunnel until recently, now they are Icetrons. I actually believe they are the EXACT same fixtures that held the LPS but converted with Icetrons.

This picture may have been taken during the change out from LPS to Icetrons! Smile
