Well.. This isn't going to end well...

Whelp, drove past this today, I kinda wonder how this happened. The reflector was on the ground, I never did end up touching it, I just left everything where they are. It seems this area is prone to lights falling off, I have no idea why. A long time ago across the SAME ROAD I found a headless light and the light was on the ground, I did take that light and I had it for a long time so.. Hmm.. I wonder why that's a common thing around here...
I just wonder if that light will eventually snap then hit someone... This needs to be dealt with.

Depending where this is, it could easily be the wind shaking poles (with lights that were never fully tightened down)....
I'm surprised the fixture is still hanging from the wires. The wires themselves are plenty strong to hold the light but normally when this happens (around here at least) the wires yank right out of the terminal block or the terminal block breaks off the light and the fixture connections to the block pull off the block (since the factory connections are all slip-on spade connections). Then all you're left with is danging wires connected to a terminal bock with the rest of the fixture on the ground lol. Honestly that's probably the best scenario since if the supply wires are still on the terminal block, they won't be able to move around and touch each other (though if that does happen, the metal pole lights should all be individually fused; wood pole lights generally are not fused though).
I was just at that Lowes on wednesday .. LOL (even came in from behind - but from the other direction)
Might be back by there this weekend - or if not, I'll be by the day after Christmas...
Can easily get some pretty good winds through that area - 80+ mph, but there hasn't been anything lately.
@streetlight98:
Yep steel poles there.
Depending when he took this, that could be the explanation...
We did get a little snow & the roads (especially side streets) were pretty icy/snowy thursday morning
I stopped by the Lowes near it today to check out their Christmas Clearance, then went back & found this one
Your theory is correct...that is clearly what happened
The light is gone now too, but the pole remains updated pic
30 times? wow...I believe Friday was the first time I've been by there since my previous post in Dec 2017
There've been other locations where I've seen poles lay on the ground for a long time. Though whenever I've seen one, the light has always been gone...
