Le gasp! A /W Banner lamp appears!
O_O

With the GE Bonuslines were 2 Sylvanias. Being of the girder frame type, I expected them to be from the post-Banner era, but nope!! If I'm not mistaken, being Banner AND girder-framed, this dates the lamp pictured (plus another identical one!) to 1963!

Even more amazing thing, the Banners are closer to their original light output and colour than the Bonuslines! In the more odd features, they have not one, but TWO starting probes! I assume this improves reliability and makes the lamp easier to start in cold temperatures (and probably when the lamp is well-used too!)

Sweet lamp!

Annoying how these stupid little boxes keep coming up on all http websites (including this one Mad ) but not https websites. They’re titled “Message from Webpage:” “[object error]” Rolling Eyes In order to post comments here I have to type the comment into a word document and copy and paste it into the comment box. It’s an issue with the browser/my computer though since it’s happening to all http sites.

@Mike (streetlight98): I think your machine might be infected Neutral I think you need to scan your files with your anti-virus program and reset your Internet Browser's security zones to default setting to see if this fix the problem.

Thanks. I thought something was strange when I restarted the computer and it didn’t go away. It’s SO annoying. Neutral

Those IE security zones weren't very good at preventing infections IMO. Personally I would just use either Firefox or Chrome with Adblock and Noscript installed.

Right On Joe!!! I avoid using IE unless it was REQUIRED....

Michael, if you don't have antivirus, I suggest you get AVG since it's free

http://free.avg.com/us-en/homepage

Also try using some other programs to check spyware and others.....like Spybot, and Lavasoft.

Personally for me it's "those darn PC users, why don't you become MAC users? Laughing
No, each to his own...but I hate PCs and Internet Explorer. Granted, I can basically use a PC (get on IE to check my email, etc.) but that's about it.
Nice lamps! I admit, I'm drooling jelousy!

Ick I don’t like Macs at all! Or Apple for that matter! I love my iPod Nano to death but Apple is always making every freakin thing obselete. I mean by June of this coming year there’ll probably be an iPhone 10. Rolling Eyes And Apple computers aren’t compatible with PCs. If you make a document on a mac it might not work on a PC and visa versa. Macs aren’t as flexible as PCs either. I just don’t like Macs. Laughing Everyone is always like “Oh Apple is the best! Oh Macs are so much better than PCs” Well, I agree with Andy, each to his own. I’ve had bad experiences with Macs in the past. Maybe if I got a free one… no no, I’d sell it to someone who think Macs have it all :lol;

BTW, I have Norton and scanned my computer and they found nothing. I still have the stupid issues too. Mad

I have Avast on my computer for virus scan. I use Firefox on my PC and Safari on my iPhone 4S. I would love to have an oversize iPod. Apple call them iPads. That would be the only Apple products I would have in my house. No need to have Apples everywhere except the red or green edible ones in the kitchen. Laughing Razz

Nice haul Vince! I have a Sylvania Banner 175w just like yours from 1963, except mine is Color Improved. It also has the early RS frame and two starting resistors. Does yours have the long, thin arc tube like in the westy lifeguards?

where did you find these lamps Vince? I'm going to ReStore on Saturday and hope to find some vintage goodies like this! Smile Cool
