Cooper OVH Open.
Here is the insides of it. Still pretty dirty after a cleaning, it was hard to get some of that dirt out of there! xD

Ballast works fine, the housing is in good condition, just a bit rusted.

And before ANYONE says "That's an odd place for the terminal block" I think we get it. xD

The terminal block was originally there.

I dunno what the date is on this fixture, there is a blank next to "Date" on the label but there is numbers "4898" above the blank spot. I wonder if that is the date.

Actually you would have to switch the reflector too to make an an OVG.

Your OVG has the new hinge design, while your OVZ has the older hinge design. And my OVZ has the new hinge design, while my OVH has the older hinge design. xD

You'r right oh well I already have two OVG's anyhow I do like the look of the OVZ aspecialy with a glass lens.
LilCinnamon   [Oct 24, 2011 at 09:27 PM]
You have two OVG's? I only see you have a pic of one, do you have any pics of the other OVG?
streetlight98   [Oct 24, 2011 at 10:27 PM]
Ian, just buy epoxy and reform the hinge. If the door still holds shut don't go buying a new one. You cans still use this door. Wink

My dad uses Expoy mold his figure things. I might be able to use some of his. But how do you know that would work?
Antstar85   [Oct 24, 2011 at 10:39 PM]
does this fixture still have the braket clamp?
Mercuryvapor123   [Oct 24, 2011 at 10:47 PM]
Yes I have two OVGs one is sag glass and the other is flat lens 70 watt HPS but I have a sag lens for it too.
LilCinnamon   [Oct 24, 2011 at 10:54 PM]
Can you get a pic of that? (If it is a flat glass then it would be OVH.)

And do you mean slipfitter? It's on here. It's just hard to see because the terminal block is mounted on it. xD
streetlight98   [Oct 24, 2011 at 11:25 PM]
@ Ian, It should work. Just let the epoxy harden a week before using the door again. Let's hope for the best.
LilCinnamon   [Oct 24, 2011 at 11:42 PM]
My dad is gonna help me fix the door. But a week? Epoxy doesn't take a week to cure, it only takes like a few hours.
streetlight98   [Oct 25, 2011 at 12:14 AM]
Oops. Embarrassed I meant day. I don't know what I was thinking. Laughing You want to let it sit overnight so you can be sure that it will properly cure. Make sure the broken part is rough so the epoxy will adhere.
LilCinnamon   [Oct 25, 2011 at 12:20 AM]
You know epoxy doesn't DRY right? It uses chemical reaction to harden.
streetlight98   [Oct 25, 2011 at 12:47 AM]
Yeah. It doesn't cure right away. The longer you let any type of thing like that the better thoguh. If it's not applied right it will snap right off.

1998 sounds right its one of the very early OVH made.....and my OVX door is broken...this is why they redesigned the door hidge..... and I think you should listen to Michael...for the BEST results...wait one week....show some patience...I tried to fix my OVX for 2 days...AND IT DID NOT WORK..so wait a WEEK!

Man the socket was BAD on this thing! The wires behind it, the insulation was all ripped off by the socket and exposing bare wires. So I replaced the socket with the socket from the M-250 R2 that I found on the ground earlier (100w HPS gotten the same day as my florescent troffer) and used the wires from that socket too. Pics coming up.
joe_347V   [Oct 25, 2011 at 07:10 AM]
Hmm, the wires on the socket weren't detachable?
LilCinnamon   [Nov 24, 2011 at 08:43 AM]
They were, but the socket was in kind of, ehh shape. Plus I didn't want to cut the wires I had to work because how they attach is by a terminal screw, not a slip on connector.

So I switched sockets, the new socket has the slip on connectors to attach to the socket and it just made it easier.

(oops accidentally deleted the comment. D: Really.)
Mercuryvapor123   [Nov 25, 2011 at 09:23 PM]
GE is fun you can interchange everything.
LilCinnamon   [Nov 25, 2011 at 11:04 PM]
Actually all sockets are interchangeable. They have the screws in the same place. I think that is a must.
streetlight98   [Nov 26, 2011 at 02:50 AM]
Some sockets you need a soldering gun to connect the leads to thoguh. Mad Rolling Eyes
