EEEEEEKKKKKKK!!! So tacky! At least they kept the old poles. Here they'd install a new pole with new fixtures and new arms instead of simply adding a second arm.
There are many like that along I10 through Lake Charles too. At first I thought they were storm damaged (there were many damaged/missing lights on them), but they must have been an LDOT favorite at the time.
@ian the only place i've seen lop sided like this near me is near longview on the Left Exit to SH 31...is that what you mean?
@icefoglights i've never seen em,prehaps they're on streetview..we crossed I-10 in Lafyette...if we would have gotten onto it off I-49 and headed west Lake Charles wouldn't be too too far.
I looked on StreetView and it looks like my memory is a little off. There similar lights down the middle of I10 at ground level, but the ones with the worst damage are single arm style down the sides. They are along the bridge approach where I10 crosses the Calcasieu river shipping channel. Here is a striking example.
Some more dual bent arms are along the airport access road. The old airport terminal was destroyed by a tornado spawned off Hurricane Rita when it hit the area in 2005.
