The SLA battery in this lantern died within a year of it arriving, even though it was charged and topped up every 3 months. I got a new lamp this week with a dead battery, would not reform at all, so it will go into the scrap pile. Replaced with a used 6V 1.2Ah unit that was still good. Odd thing is that the lamp was originally designed for a magnetic transformer, with space on the board for the diodes and the resistors to limit current, but there is a small switchmode supply on a PCB that is cut to fit the screw spacing of the magnetic transformer instead. They must now be so cheap that they can replace a magnetic unit that is so cheap to make.
