Nice!! I found where this is and they left it out during the retrofits. Streetview had all CGE`s with some construction going on in 2007. It looks like an LED for sure! Its awesome how they kept it. Maybe they kept it there for us
Yeah, I was a bit surprised to see that the city kept a CGE 8-8-8 after all those years and that it eluded my camera until now lol. The previous set of 8-8-8s I knew of got removed more than three years ago.
I believe those are 12-12-12 signals. They also have louvered backplates which I haven't seen anywhere else in the GTA. I'm still puzzled why they chose to used those at that intersection.
To my surprise, the 8-8-8 is still in use. It looks like it got retrofitted to LED though. At this rate this is probably the last CGE 8-8-8 left in the entire GTA.
I have no idea what modules they have in there. It is strange that they've kept this signal around so long.
Actually they are now all gone here now including Hartford. The 8-8-8 i posted on the 26th a few comments up, was just replaced within the last 2 weeks. They replaced the last Eagle Durasig Hanger signal on Bramalea Road and Avondale as well.
Yeah I'm kinda interested too, they have a louver assembly in front which makes it hard to tell what exactly they have installed. Granted the louver assembly is probably why it still wasn't replaced. They kept the 12-8-8 CGEs at the crosswalk between the Eaton Centre and The Bay on Queen since they were equipped with 3M adapters on the greens.
They are showing up now a lot in black with no backplates for bike signals though in recent years.
Also the intersection of Steeles and Hartford has that 8-8-8
