Title: "Intelight ESB" Traffic Signal In Action
Post by: basilicon89 on December 30, 2011, 12:46:23 AM
Here's mine in the aimed area, and off axis. Works better than the old design pioneered by 3M......

.....and stolen by McCain.

3Ms and McCains used a series of lenses and specialized tape. The Intelight uses software and electronics. All these signals were designed so that you could only see them head on.

Old thread is old but I happened to recently acquire one of these Intelight ESB signals for my own collection and I am amazed by the amount of technology packed into these things.  I have a few of the old 3M models (in various states of completion) as well and while I'm definitely nostalgic for the look of the 3M design, and totally not impressed with the McCain knockoff design, I think this newer ESB signal just may be my personal favorite of that style of signal.
