Could this be gas filled like this one that was made in between 1913 and 1918?

Dunno.  I bought one but I'm not so sure I want to break it open to find out!  Maybe there is some indication on the packaging that can help narrow down the date.  I'll let you know when it shows up.

Yes that one is gas filled. On tipped bulbs, the long thin neck is indication of a gas filled atmosphere. It would also be called a Mazda C. You could also use a BBQ ignitor it will cause the gas to make a dim flash which is visible in the dark. Or use a plasma ball.

Very cool info.  I received the lamp and it seems pretty cool.  I'm planning to use it in a realy early series L-M radial wave once I get it restored.  The glass just feels thin, however it could be an illusion if it's gas filled.

Here is a link to a pretty interesting old lamp label collection for those who haven't seen it.
