I've just discovered that the 125 (http://www.acuitybrandslighting.com/library/AEL/documents/SpecSheets/RW-125-D.pdf) and 325 (http://www.acuitybrandslighting.com/library/AEL/documents/SpecSheets/RW-325-C.pdf) are both available in Philips CosmoPolis and MASTERColour!

Cool, although I would like it more if they also offered a CMH option that didn't require a electronic ballast.
-
Well I sorta know that CMH wasn't made to really run in magnetic ballasts....although I have tried....they do work...but with more flickering start up...while electronic start up doesn't flicker at ALL...just one BRIGHT strike and dims a bit before starting to warm up!
-
Yeah, but not in 120v

Actually, the AEL 325 can do 120 volts on the lower wattages

i'd love to see my utility install these....they'd certainly look nice at night....the electronic ballast's seem the most likely part to fail early, but they should run the lamps more efficently than a magnetic ballast.
-
CMH lamps can run on QMH ballasts, right? If so, utilities can just stick CMH lamps in the existing QMH systems.
-
yes CMH can work on PULSE start QMH ballasts....Although usually CMH are mostly designed to work on electronic ballasts, but they will work just fine! They both have same electrical charaterstics......
But the CMH are all pulse start...not probe start....

Yeah, i meant Pulse Metal Halide. Guess i just wasn't thinking at the time.

Clarifying things a little here, some specific types of CMHs such as the Philips CosmoPolis lamps require electronic ballasts. The rest of the CMH line can run on either magnetic or electronic ballasts.

Although I am sure you can cheat with the CosmoPolis Lamps and some type of ballasts :P
