Title: Pretty Cool Light Finds along my Road Trip To Oklahoma for Thanksgiving
Post by: Form109 on November 26, 2010, 02:06:27 AM
ok guys so i just got back from Oklahoma about 6 Hours Ago and i saw some mad cool stuff today....unfortunately my Camera is starting to bite the dust so i was unable to capture one single thing i saw.

in Quitman,Texas....on a small building they had Two Westinghouse Wallguard fixtures with missing lenses.

of course they had MV in the small towns on the way up there.....but the trip back down here was much more interesting as we took the alternate route that we usually never take, her's what i found.

Daingerfield,Texas has a Few (i only saw 2) Mercury Vapor OVM's as well as maybe Two or 3 M-400's

though the most intreasting lighting was at an Ace Hardware Store...which had Two Double Poles in their parking lot, each Arm had a McGraw Edison Unidor 400!...making for a Total Count of 4.

the most intreasting Place was Lone Star,Texas

the City Itself has Mostly OVM's with a Few OVX's here and there....but right as you leave the city theres Two Unistyle 400's.

The City is also home to some sort of Old Steel Plant, the Peremiter of this Plant is Lit by a Variety of Unistyle 400's and Silverliner OV-25's Mostly.....intreastingly some were HPS and MV and a Few Looked like they could even be MH,the place also had a few OV-15's which looked like MV too.

if your curious as to where these places are...you might want to travel there to see this.....it was a pretty cool sight,im only mad that my camera didnt want to cooperate. ::)

I see those kinds of lights everyday LOL, I mean I always see newer and older MVs everyday.......but the Westinghouse wallguards was a GREAT find though!

But no matter, what makes streetlights more interesting is they exist more in one place and less in other places and some people live in places that don't have many mercs while others live in places with more mercs. That makes it interesting....you get to see more Form 109s than I could because Form 109s are pretty non existing in MD!
The closest I used to know where the Form 109s used to be was in Washington DC. which is now gone ;-( There may be some still in DC, who knows....

OVX is a VERY popular 400 watt replacement almost everywhere, I see them used as MV replacements in NJ, of course all of my electrical company in MD, in NY Yonkers area, in Colorado in a few towns, in PA and many other places man! OVX just a very common MV 400 watt replacement approved by everywhere LOL!
