in an Effort to Combat the Upcoming Ban of Mercury Vapor Lamps in 2016,i have formed this Petition...im hoping it will be effective to some degree...but if not it was worth a Try,i might have made a mistake by not Citing Any Articles (and therefore not being able to Confirm any Claims)..there will be an attemption to correct this error, but its a good start.

Great Petition, but the entire thing is a run-on sentence. I'd fix that to make it look more professional.
Best of luck,

The 2016 MV Ban is because this light source (especially the clear MV) is very inefficient for its applications (Even comparing to halophosphate fluorescents) and it contains the highest mercury dosage of any another type of HID lamps. Low wattage clear mercury lamps have ~30 lpw berely larger then the highest efficiency halogen lamp. And the SBMVs have in the worst case can have less lumen efficiency then a regular filament lamps (And this is the case of the american and the Japanese lamps and all european lamps below 160W). In Israel for example there is an intense moving from MVs to HPSs. In Haifa for example MVs today are almost only serves to illuminate small areas and areas that don't require a lot of lights like playgrounds to prevent drug addicts, alcoholics and another people to reach these areas and cause damage at night. but i bet that they will soon replaced in the future to HPSs and/or MHs too.

Okay,

I posted the petition in other forums I am member of.

One is http://www.elightbars.org/ (http://www.elightbars.org/) dealing with emergency lights and anything related to them. Bad news is that it's not doing well. No one has signed it. (Left a poll there and the only one that signed is me. 13 said no so far.) I left the petition there yesterday. Too soon to tell but I can tell that it will not be good.

Other is http://www.candlepowerforums.com/ (http://www.candlepowerforums.com/) dealing with flashlights and anything portable or use LEDs. I just posted that a few minutes ago.

I suggest you all start stocking up on mercury vapor lamps as you can get hold of them. Just to be safe.

I would suggest you post the petition in the forums you're member of. Usually goes in the off-topic folder if the forums isn't about lighting.

Anyone who works for the utility company pass it amongs your co-workers. Ask them to pass it along to their friends and families.

Thank you.

Hey all. This is Dave with some good news. My petition has reached 132 signatures so far. It looks like about 3 were actually for the ban and misread, but thats still not bad. Their error is our gain I guess, and I can tell that the majority have read it carefully enough. I don't know how much time we have left but I want to get the number really high so spread it everywhere. If anybody knows how much time we have left please let me know though and I will consider sending it to the government sooner. Thanks.

I've been sending copies of the petition to many power companies that I can think of to get more signatures, I know many of them do consider mercury vapor lights to be obsolete though but it's still worth a shot.

I would recommend writing to your local senators since utility companies are not interested at all.
