Title: How do you wire up a 240v lighting fixture?

If I get a 240v street light, how do you wire it up (I know its two phases with no neutral)?

Get a dryer cord. Black goes to one fixture wire, red goes to the other fixture wire. White is unused unless you have a 240V street light with a 120V PC socket. 240V has no polarity. It doesn't matter which hot goes where. That only matters with three phase.

You can basically use the two phases of your house (if you have), or use a step up transformer.

However, in China, we can directly connect 240V appliances, although our mains power is 220~230V
