Title: Crimefighters on Kiijii
Post by: joe_347V on August 09, 2016, 04:56:30 PM
Spotted these guys (http://www.kijiji.ca/v-renovation-electrical/trenton-on/2-ge-street-lights/1186685202?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true) while on Kiijii. I already have one so I'm not gonna get them.

Also spotted this LM mini gumball (http://www.kijiji.ca/v-outdoor-lighting/oshawa-durham-region/antique-out-side-light/1187471117?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true) and arm.

M-250A (http://www.kijiji.ca/v-outdoor-lighting/sudbury/street-light/1186510721?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true) with some PCs and lamps.

HO fluorescent (http://www.kijiji.ca/v-outdoor-lighting/london/fluorescent-street-lights/1154989403?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true) streetlight.

Yeah, I think they are, or at least one of them. Didn't know the Crimefighters have the refractor separately boxed but I guess it's so the heavy glass dosen't break in transport. Kijiji is basically the Canadian version of Craigslist lol, people here use Kijiji more than Craigslist.

Yep the glasses and fixtures were boxed separately. I think the reason was because the glass protrudes so far from the fixture so boxing it up would be tricky and yeah, the glass has a better chance of surviving is boxed separately. My fixture is a paperweight without the glass but once the glass is installed, the thing is a heavy son-of-a-gun!

Ahh, that makes sense. Mine has a ballast so it's still hefty without the refractor on. I think the OEM ballast was heavier though.

Yeah those older bulky 120/240V GE MV ballasts were hefty (that's what it had if I recall?) One of my NOS M-250R1s and my silver M-250R both have those four coil 120/240V ballasts. They're pretty loud too. My NOS M-400 split door has the larger 400W version. My M-250A has a simple choke ballast (the spare 120V Powr/Module I use has an HX ballast).

Yeah, mine had one of those 4 coil 120/240v regulator ballasts. I replaced it with a new 175w MH ballast since the old cap was shot and I wasn't able to find a replacement for a decent price. The ballast seemed to be on it's last legs anyway. I don't remember if mine was loud though, I only ran it for 5 minutes. I kept the OEM GE ballast though, didn't want to throw it out since it was the orignal ballast and still had signs of life. It's currently in the box the replacement ballast came in.
