Title: looking for example photos of LED colour shift
Post by: bryantm3 on March 09, 2013, 03:37:35 AM
i've heard that some of the new LED lights have a noticable colour shift after a few years— does anyone have photos of this so i can see what they're talking about? also, do specific brands of the lights turn certain colours (like leotek turns green after a while, but GE turns blue), or do all of the LED brands that have this problem display a similar colour shift (like leotek and GE both turn a shade of yellow)?

i think the reason they change color is because the plastic used the make them yellow but maybe it's also becuase when light output diminishes, there is more yellow phosphor than blue light so the color balance is off a little. there are no LEDs (thank GOODNESS) around here so i can't get any pics though.

It's also because of the phosphor wearing away...
