I think it could be interesting to know what you guys are into!
Personally I am a general lighting enthusiast, I like everything lighting-related! Though at the moment I tend to be more into incandescent and fluorescent, mainly because I don't have access to streetlighting stuff as much as I do with inc./fluo.

Well I am into street lighting and HID lighting mostly but I also am interested in all types of lighting. I also have a bit of an interest in traffic signals, also like most members I'm interested in electronics and electrical things as well as working on electrical wiring projects and repairs.

Traffic Signals and all associated equipment. I know pretty much all brands made today and within the last 80 years but theres alot of off-shoot brands out there. Anyone who needs help with a brand or wants background on a brand of signal/controller, I am your guy.
I have a fully actuated 5 phase intersection with video camera detectors and a crosswalk button (you'll see it all in my album) that I wired all from scratch in my basement.
All of my stuff is hooked up to a full size controller cabinet. And the controller is connected via RS232 to a closed loop master.

I am pretty general lighting and electrical related. I grew up enjoying looking at streetlights in long rides and sometimes daily as a kid, and during Christmas of course I had fun looking at Christmas lights. I also had interests in lightbulbs (without knowing the brand or anything for some reason...just looking at them) and as a toddler and a young kid I pointed at broken lights and stuff LOL.
I have always been interested generally in electronics too which in a way related to lights since some electronics involved lights.
I have had interest in school lighting during school days...with all the rapid start fluoros....and seeing ones that went out and flickering.
I am pretty much generalized, so I would get along with almost anybody with lighting related, and talks and willing and love to learn MORE!
(P.S. Nick, I am so happy to have someone like you in this site, I also give credit to Form109. I do have interest in traffic lights, but have a LOT to learn too!)

I pretty like most general lighting or anything that's used for lighting but most of my collection is incandescent and fluorescent since at the moment since they're the most common lighting stuff I can get.
I am also and interested in and collect streetlights, traffic signals, road and highway signage, electronics and electrical devices too.
A little unrelated but I also have a small collection of older stereo equipment too.

streetlighting was what i got into first....about January 31 2008 was when i started taking pictures of streetlights, and ive been snapping them near continiously since then.
and i bought my first HID Light Later that year in may,a Regent Blaster.
i got into fluorescent lights much later, never did pay them much attention til July,2009 then i started buying old linear fluorescent fixtures in general, currently having Two with T-12 being my Favorite Size and 40 Watts my favorite wattage.
im now into signals and trying to learn more about them since May,2009....began taking pictures of those in April 2009 and have been taking pictures of them interminetly on and off but more frequent and detailed lately.

Form109 (devonte) received alot of his information from me via offline conversations.

Street lighting and HID lighting is mostly what I am into, probably because I work with them. ;)
-
I mainly like incandescent light bulbs, some CFL's, linear fluorescent light bulbs, C7 Christmas light bulbs and some odd ends.
-
Im into CFLs , magnetic ballasts, older electronic ballasts, LEDs (under 15W and decent design) linear fluorescent of all types , all HIDs and ballasts , cristmass lights of all types, and some specialty lighting
-
Hmm. I'm into all lighting. During the warmer months I'm into HID, scince i'm outside more. During the winter months I'm more into fluorescent. But all in all, I'm into just about anything related to elecrical lights. Right now, I'm teaching myself how to wire lights and switches (like triple switch and stuff like that.) Of course I don't do anything past the juction box though because I am not an electrician.

Fluorescent lighting has always been my favorite. Next in line would be all types of HID lighting, with gas tube signage (Neon) a close third. I never really paid much attention to incandescent lighting until all the bans started, now I've developed a new appreciation for it.
Most of my collection is fluorescent fixtures, bulbs etc, with a few unsual incandescents thrown in.

I prefer antique lighting. Indoors or out, pole, arm, chain or flush mount. Heck I even like vintage oil lighting. I enjoy all aspects of ancient electrical devices, as well as thier supporting devices. I have large collection of old and odd (now anyway) devices, lamps and parts ect. :) I even use old camp lighting for my outside Christmas lights, they are at least 50 / 60 years old.

I mostly collect older roadway lighting fixtures and other outdoor HID fixtures.
